20/01/18 - 28/01/18: Hamburg, Bochum, Bielefeld, Brugge & Denderleeuw

My fourth visit to the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg unfortunately was a bit of a disappointment, since HSV lost the very important game against 1. FC Köln. Luckily I was able to clear my mind by visiting the home of SC Victoria Hamburg and two further matches in Bochum and Bielefeld. During this trip in Germany I checked out my first handball match (in Hamburg) and the German football museum (in Dortmund) as well. Back in Belgium it was time for two teams in blue and black: Club Brugge and FCV Dender EH.

The first three games I visited in 2018 were all played in new grounds for me personally. The fourth game was in my home town and the last one of this streak was the postponed cup match between FCB and RCSC.

Two of the most attractive teams in the early stages of the 2017-2018 season were facing off in De Freethiel in Beveren, one of the few remaining unvisited grounds of the highest Belgian league at that time. On Sunday I was able to combine Knokke and Brugge.

I had never been to Switzerland before, but now I had an amazing opportunity to combine football, ice hockey and citytripping in three of the biggest cities in a short period of time. On the way there I stopped in the Black Forest, to check out the lovely city of Freiburg im Breisgau and a game in the DFB-Pokal.
